8:00 - 9:00AM
We are now offering Stay Class on the first Saturday of even numbered months. If you are interested in developing your dog's 'stay' command to become a more reliable behavior, then this class for you! We will work on the three most important aspects of the 'stay' command, the 3 D’s - distance, duration, and distraction. Distance training develops your dog's tolerance to the amount of space between you and your dog. Duration refers to the amount of time your dog holds the 'stay'. Distractions are anything that could interrupt the 'stay' behavior. Our class will improve your dog's 'stay' command by exposing them to these variables in a controlled environment. We have a variety of common real world “distractions” available such as: other people/dogs, wheelchairs, bikes, and toys. The class goal is to achieve a reliable 2-3 minute 'sit', a 3 minute 'down', and a 'stand' for examination. For those who strive for the utmost performance out of themselves and their dogs, we are renewing a focus on completing the 1 Hour, 1 Mile challenge. All levels and all breeds are welcome from the tiniest Yorkie up to the largest St. Bernard, from complete novices to jail-breaking broncos! This class will teach your dog to pull whatever item you want him to pull. A bike, wagon, sled, you on skates...anything! Don’t worry; teaching your dog to pull won’t undo any previous obedience training. In fact, quite the opposite; if your dog knows not to pull when given a command, telling them it is okay to pull will solidify their understanding. Be sure to bring a hungry dog with their favorite treats or toy. Also, if any special equipment is wanted, such as in-line skates or a scooter, bring it along. We will provide a harness for the first class and help get your dog fitted. See you there! Rally Obedience ClassTBA All Levels Welcome

Yoga With Your DogTBA All Levels, No yoga experience necessary Cost - $18 per person Live like a dog, live in the moment. Please join us! This class incorporates yoga poses (asanas) with your dog. You will practice traditional poses with a twist, integrating your dog into the action. Yoga provides many benefits including building strength and flexibility. Any level of strength or flexibility is perfect for this class. Often people think they can't do yoga because they are not flexible or strong enough. However, this is simply false. One of the many benefits of yoga is that truly anyone can do it. If you can breathe you can do yoga! Try it and see! Dogs are naturals at this practice as they even have a pose in reference to their species, downward facing dog. However, there is more to it than just this pose. The biggest factor is a dog's inherent quality of living in the moment. Rather than worrying about the past or the future they live in the present, a quality that most of us struggle with daily. Attend Yoga With Your Dog and you will work towards experiencing this healthy mindset as well as physical benefits. What to bring: yoga mat or a long towel for human, comfortable clothing, towel for your dog, water bottle. Reminders:
Class is taught by Aimee Woods, Certified Yoga Instructor and Health Counselor |
