Instructions

Helpful Hints:
The instructions above conform to the dog in the heel position, which is traditionally the left side of the trainer. Proper fitting of the collar places the first loop higher on the dog's neck, allowing the handler to obtain more leverage. Each of the two loops can be adjusted individually to fit your dog's neck. Most dogs are narrower at the top of the neck; if this is the case, adjust the top loop to make it a bit smaller. The design of the Scruffy Guider makes it a wonderful tool to aid in steering the dog or puppy for training. It is an especially effective collar because of it's gentleness on the pup's neck. The even distribution of pressure throughout the Scruffy Guider eliminates choking, making training less stressful for the human as well as the dog. The convenient handle makes for easy guidance of the dog when it is off-leash, especially in the house. Once the dog is trained, the Scruffy Guider can be removed for a transition to a conventional flat leather or nylon collar.
