| Congratulations Aimee!
One of Pittsburgh's newest CKO's
In an astonishing 3rd round finish Aimee "Red" Woods finished off the current champ with a flurry of combos that, wait...what? CKO?! I though you said TKO. Ok, I'm on the right track now.
Congratulations to Aimee Woods, General Manager of Misty Pines Dog Park. On October 28 she passed the Certified Kennel Operator Program through the Pet Care Services Organization.

Recommended Product for this month:
Direct Stop
Time to start taking evening walks again. The weather is cooler, the air is sharper and there is just something free about taking evening walks with the family in fall. While you're out, make sure you and yours are protected. Make sure you have some Direct Stop with you. It is not only effective on dogs, but can also be used on cats, venomous snakes, raccoons, squirrels, opossums, etc. And you never know when you need to fight off some nutty Squirrel!
When tested with trained attack dogs, this citronella formula was found to be just as effective as 10% pepper spray, without the harmful side effects. Unlike pepper spray, DirectStop does not cause pain, there-fore, it doesn’t heighten aggression. Plus, it won’t injure the user or onlookers if spray is accidentally "blown back" into the eyes.

Our classes incorporate real life distractions for your dog to work through. This helps to train reliability into your dog so they will be successful in various locations. We encourage everyone in the family to be a part of the training process. Starter Training Classes are informative, engaging and educational as well as entertaining for your whole family.
The professional Misty Pines training team suggests positive techniques and innovative solutions for your dog's training. With our solid understanding of canine behavior, the trainers at Misty Pines can help you to interpret your dog's behaviors and body language. We will teach you how to reinforce the good behaviors, eliminate the unwanted behaviors and be a true leader, teacher and trainer to your dog. Our trainers are certified with the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and International Association of Canine Professionals.
The syllabus for our classes follow many of the exercises for the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test (CGC) and the Therapy Dog International (TDI) Test. We conduct the CGC and TDI tests several times throughout the year at Misty Pines. Starter Classes focus on obedience, manners and proper socialization with reward based training. Your dog will learn verbal commands, leash signals and hand signals from attending the Starter Classes. Starter Training Classes are for dogs over 6 months old that are starting into training classes at Misty Pines.
